Community Dinner Fundraiser Raises Over $9,000!

What a night we had! The 2nd Annual Community Dinner Fundraiser was a huge success, with over 75 guests celebrating with us and raising $9,370 for our cause. This is a big leap from last year’s event which raised $3,500.

Dignitaries among the guests included MLA Anne Kang (Burnaby-Deer Lake) and City of New Westminster Councillor Lorrie Williams. Our heartfelt thanks goes to venue sponsor Guyle Clark of Clark Woods LLP, who not only rolled out the red carpet for us at Sande’s Lounge & Banquet Hall at the Burnaby Winter Club, but also served as our very entertaining MC.

The entire dinner was prepared using surplus food from Save-On-Foods and we thank Chefs Salvatore, Fillippo and Mike who worked all day to prepare the buffet, and Chef Shay Kelly from Burnaby’s The Caterer whose appetizers and desserts were to die for. Our biggest thanks is reserved for our volunteers who looked after all our guests with the utmost courtesy and professionalism.
